Pupil Premium
The Pupil Premium was introduced by the Government to raise the attainment of disadvantaged pupils of all abilities and to close the gaps between them and their peers. It is allocated according to:
- The number of pupils who are eligible for free school meals
- The number of children of service families
- Each pupil who has been “looked after” (in care) for six months or more
The literacy and numeracy ‘Catch-Up Premium’ gives schools additional funding to support Year 7 pupils who did not achieve at least level 4 in reading and/or mathematics at the end of key stage 2 (KS2).
