Exceptional outcomes for Eden Girls’ Coventry on GCSE results day

The school community at Eden Girls’ School, Coventry is celebrating after its pupils secured exceptional GCSE results this summer.

School staff and parents joined pupils in school as they opened the results that will enable them to progress onto the next stage of their education.

Khadijat Akinwale, one of the school’s top performers, is on cloud nine after achieving nine grade 9s (the highest possible grade). Khadijat’s exceptional results have helped her to secure a place at Lawrence Sheriff School to study A levels in Maths, Chemistry, Biology and Psychology. Excited about her future, Khadijat said:

“I have learnt three valuable lessons from my time at Eden: to work diligently, persevere and be a valuable member of society. A cherished wisdom I garnered from the school was the STAR value of Service. Only for this reason, I am sure and focused on the goal to be a psychiatrist when I am older – to aid those in our society in a sector most people forget about.”

Aspiring computer software engineer, Safiya Snaaullah achieved ten GCSEs, including six grade 9s, three grade 8s and one grade 7. She is looking forward to studying Computer Science, Biology and Maths A levels at Sidney Stringer Academy. Thanking staff at the school, Safiya said:

“I thank all my teachers and fellow pupils who pushed me to achieve my best and I am truly grateful for all the amazing memories I have made at Eden. I wish all future years the best of luck!”

Budding lawyer, Leena Khan was overjoyed with her outstanding GCSE results, which included two grade 8s and two grade 7s. Leena is excited to study English Literature, Law and Psychology at Sidney Stringer Academy. Leena said: “

I am proud of myself and everyone who got their results today. We had many challenges, but we worked hard, overcame everything thrown at us and did exceptionally well”.

Setaish Popalzai, another of the school’s top performers, was ecstatic with her GCSE results, which included six grade 9s and two grade 8s. Setaish has aspirations for a career in cyber security and has secured a place at Barrs Hill School to study Philosophy & Ethics, Computer Science and Maths. Thanking all the staff, Setaish said:

“If you had told me at the beginning of Year 7 that I would go on to achieve these results or to develop the confidence that I have, I would never have believed you. I’m just so grateful to all the teachers, staff and my parents and friends for helping me to grow and develop into the person I am today.”

Shazia Akram, Principal at Eden Girls’ School, Coventry, said:

“We are immensely proud of our pupils’ outstanding achievements in this year’s GCSEs. Their hard work, determination, and dedication have culminated in a set of impressive academic results.

“I would also like to thank our exceptional staff and supportive parents who have played an integral role in nurturing our pupils’ success. I wish all our girls the best of luck in their future endeavours.”
